The Silk RobeRudolph Care Serum: The heart of your skincare routine
A serum is one of the most powerful and sensorial steps in your skincare routine. At Rudolph Care, we see serum as the heart of a well-balanced ritual; it's like an undershirt – the first essential layer of care for your skin. A concentrated formula that works deeply to strengthen your skin’s natural balance, hydration, and vitality.
At Rudolph Care, we develop serums with the belief that beauty and care must go hand in hand with consideration for both you and nature. A serum from Rudolph Care is therefore more than an effective skincare product – it’s a moment of wellbeing, where you give your skin exactly what it needs in a pure and uncompromising formula.
At Rudolph Care, we offer three serums, each with its own distinct benefits:
- Firming Perfector Serum – a hyaluronic acid serum: An intensely hydrating serum that smooths the skin with moisture and care, leaving it firmer. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture and gives skin a plump, soft feel and a hydrated glow.
- Açai All in One Serum – a serum with bio-retinol RetinART and vitamin C: RetinART works to even out the skin and boost collagen production, while stabilized vitamin C helps reduce the appearance of pigmentation. For skin that feels firmer and looks more even and radiant.
- Sun Face Serum SPF 30 – a serum with SPF, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide: Loved for its lightweight texture and effective, broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. Hyaluronic acid provides moisture, while niacinamide delivers smoothing care. Sun Face Serum can replace your usual daytime serum throughout the warmer months. Remember to apply the recommended amount to achieve the stated sun protection.
What is a serum, and what does serum do for your skin?
A serum is a lightweight skincare product – often with a high concentration of active ingredients. Serums address specific skin concerns, such as:
- Wrinkles
- Dry skin
- Pigmentation
A serum works deeper within the skin, while a moisturizer protects its surface. This is why serum is always applied before moisturizer.
A good serum can transform your skin care routine. It supports the skin’s moisture balance, improves firmness and elasticity, and gives skin a glow from within. A serum can also help skin feel calm and balanced and promote a more even texture.
When you combine a serum with your face cream and/or face oil, the ingredients work together to give your skin intensive nourishment and care.
What is the difference between serum and day cream?
Serum and day cream each have a place in your skin care routine. The serum provides targeted care, while the cream helps your skin retain moisture and keeps it soft and supple.
- Serum provides concentrated care: A lightweight skin care product, often with a high concentration of active ingredients selected to address specific skin needs.
- Choose a serum according to your skin’s needs: Hyaluronic acid binds moisture and adds fullness, vitamin C works on glow and a more even skin tone, while bio-retinol RetinART supports skin renewal and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
- Day cream provides moisture, nourishment, and protection: It helps retain moisture and supports the skin’s barrier. Depending on the formula, your day cream can also provide active, targeted care.
- Apply serum before day cream: Apply your serum to freshly cleansed skin, then follow with your cream. This gives your skin both the targeted care of the serum and the moisture-retaining care of the cream.
At Rudolph Care, we think of serum as your skin’s “undershirt” – a first layer of care that your face cream builds on.
How long should you wait between serum and moisturizer?
There’s no need to time the gap between serum and moisturizer. Let the two steps follow naturally, and pay attention to how the products spread on your skin:
- Apply serum first: Spread it evenly over your face, neck, and décolleté.
- Give it a moment: Once the serum has settled a little and no longer feels wet on your skin, you can apply your cream.
- Follow with face cream: Your skin can still feel slightly damp – there’s no need to wait until it’s completely dry.
If you ask us, there’s no fixed rule about waiting 30 or 60 seconds. Find a pace that makes the products comfortable to apply, so your routine feels simple and natural.
Which serum should I choose?
Serum for intense hydration, fullness, and glow
If your skin feels dry, has lost some of its fullness, or lacks radiance, a hydrating serum is key to renewed comfort and suppleness. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most effective moisture-binding ingredients – it attracts and retains hydration in the skin, leaving it fresh and alive.
Firming Perfector Serum is an intensely hydrating serum that restores the skin’s moisture balance and gives it fullness. The hyaluronic acid, so to speak, plumps the skin from within. The formula is also rich in active ingredients that strengthen the skin’s resilience and structure – such as apple stem cell extract, which mimics the skin’s own cell signals and activates its natural renewal process. The result is softer, firmer skin that feels stronger and more elastic.
During the summer months, you can replace your serum with Sun Face Serum SPF 30 in your morning routine to give your skin both moisture and smoothing care.
Serum for clear and even skin
If you’re looking for the best serum to give your skin a caring boost and replace dryness lines with radiant skin, Açai All in One Serum is an obvious choice. It’s formulated with the groundbreaking ingredient RetinART, a natural bio-retinol that reduces lines and enhances glow, while stabilized vitamin C evens the skin tone and helps reduce pigmentation. At the same time, açai oil and microalgae deliver antioxidants that protect the skin against free radicals.
When the sun is shining, we always recommend using Sun Face Serum during the day – a true must-have throughout the summer season.
Serum for sensitive skin
Many with sensitive skin can benefit from using Açai All in One Serum, which works with the skin without stressing or disturbing its balance. The natural bio-retinol works like traditional retinol but without the unpleasant side effects such as irritation or the need for SPF in the following days.
If you experience pigmentation spots, the stabilized vitamin C in Açai All in One Serum helps to even your skin tone.
And remember SPF during the sunny months – Sun Face Serum is your best friend!
If you have very sensitive skin or experience conditions such as acne or rosacea, it’s always a good idea to consult a dermatologist to find what works best for your skin.
Serum for combination skin
If your skin tends to be oily or experience impurities, Açai All in One Serum is an excellent choice. The light texture works to even out the skin tone and create a smooth surface without weighing down the skin.
The active ingredient RetinART, a natural bio-retinol, stimulates cell renewal and helps reduce unevenness, while stabilized vitamin C brightens and refines the complexion. At the same time, açai oil and microalgae act as powerful antioxidants that protect and strengthen the skin.
Açai All in One Serum is ideal for combination skin that needs balance, moisture, and lightness – without compromising on care and efficacy.
During the summer season, we always recommend protecting the skin with SPF during the day – so you can easily switch your serum for Sun Face Serum, which also provides hydration.
When should you use serum, and how should you apply it?
Apply your serum to clean skin morning and night, before using your face cream and/or facial oil. Use 1–2 pumps and spread the serum gently over the face, neck, and décolleté.
A serum works as an active base that enhances the effect of the products you apply afterward. This means both moisture and nourishment from your cream are absorbed more effectively, giving your skin the most from your routine.
One of our best tips for applying serum is to use a hydrating mist, we recommend Mist Delight, before applying your serum. The hydrating drops act as a transport system for the nourishing ingredients in the serum, helping them absorb deeper into the skin.

FAQ
Serum gives your skin targeted care with active ingredients selected to address specific skin needs. Perhaps your skin needs moisture and fullness, or you’re looking for more glow or a more even skin tone. Firming Perfector Serum provides intense hydration with hyaluronic acid, while Açai All in One Serum targets firmness, fine lines, and pigmentation with bio-retinol RetinART and stabilized vitamin C. Sun Face Serum SPF 30 or Sun Face Serum SPF 50 protects your skin with broad-spectrum SPF and supports it with niacinamide.
After dermaplaning, your skin needs moisture, gentle care, and sun protection. Firming Perfector Serum may be a good choice thanks to its high hyaluronic acid content, which binds moisture and helps skin feel soft and supple. For daytime use, Sun Face Serum SPF 30 is an option that combines hydration with broad-spectrum sun protection and niacinamide to support the skin’s barrier.
Always follow your treatment provider’s advice on when to resume using your products. Both serums contain fragrance and were not developed specifically for freshly treated skin, so ask your provider whether they are suitable for your skin after your particular treatment.
Serum isn’t essential to a good skin care routine, but it can make a difference when you want more targeted care. If your skin feels dry, lacks glow, or you want to address fine lines and uneven skin tone, a serum can be a good addition to your face cream. At Rudolph Care, we see serum as the heart of your routine – a concentrated layer of care chosen according to what your skin needs.
Use serum after cleansing and, if you like, a mist, before applying face cream or facial oil. You can use serum morning and evening, depending on your skin’s needs. During the day, choose Sun Face Serum SPF 30 when you want serum and sun protection in the same step.
Apply 1–2 pumps of serum to clean skin on your face, neck and décolleté. Massage it in gently, then follow with face cream or facial oil. For an extra boost of moisture, use a mist before your serum.
There’s no need to wait a set number of minutes. Once you’ve applied your serum, you can follow with face cream as soon as the serum feels absorbed and comfortable on your skin.
Serum comes first. Apply it after cleansing and, if you like, a mist, then finish with face cream or facial oil. Serum offers targeted care, while cream and oil add moisture and nourishment as the final step in your routine.
That depends on the serum you choose. Firming Perfector Serum delivers intense moisture and plumps the skin with hyaluronic acid, while Açai All in One Serum works to give the skin glow and a more even tone. Sun Face Serum SPF 30 combines hydrating care with broad-spectrum sun protection.
Serum and face cream each have a role in your skincare routine. A serum lets you choose active ingredients that suit your skin’s needs, while a face cream adds moisture and nourishment. At Rudolph Care, we recommend applying serum first and finishing with face cream or facial oil – serum isn’t meant to be used on its own.
